Chakra Sweatshirts…

January 8, 2022

Long ago I designed the Chakra jewellery collection inspired by the meaning of the seven chakras and their beautiful symbol, the lotus flower.

Since then I came back to this original tinyOm’s collection many times during the creation of the Jewellery & Lifestyle lines.

Today I am excited to introduce you to my newest product, the Chakra Sweatshirts.

Each print on the Chakra Sweatshirts represents one of the chakras. Each Chakra has a specific meaning, which is associated with a color. These colors are the same as the rainbow colors in hues and order.

The Chakra Sweatshirts are made in Portugal in 100% Organic cotton. The pigment dyeing process creates a unique, softer feeling with a vintage look for a very comfortable wear.

I hope you will love the Chakra Sweatshirts as I do!

Hugs,
Virginie

Happy Birthday to me…

January 5, 2022

Happy Birthday to me… BIG 50!

I am not old…she said
I am rare.

I am the standing ovation
At the end of the play.

I am the retrospective
Of my life as art.

I am the hours
Connected like dots
Into good sense.

I am the fullness
Of existing.

You think I am waiting to die…
But I am waiting to be found.

I am a treasure,
I am a map,
And these wrinkles are
Imprints of my journey.

Ask me anything.

A sense of gratitude…

December 25, 2021

One of my dear yoga teacher Kamala Amy (@kam_asv) used to always finish her class with this sentence “Bring your hands to your heart center and feel a sense of gratitude”. Back then, I was at the beginning of my yoga journey but I found this simple sentence so helpful and powerful.

It is so easy to get caught up in our life and its dramas, often with reason. But even when we are going through major hurdles, recognizing the good aspects of our life, even the smallest good ones, helps us to distance ourselves from the drama and give us some equanimity

When we acknowledge the good that we have in our lives, we connect to something larger than us, whether to other people, to nature, or to a higher level of spiritual energy.

Amy, I can still hear your soft voice at the end of my practice… and remember then to feel a sense of gratitude!

I wish you all a lovely festive season!

Between 2 Seas…

December 10, 2021

BETWEEN 2 SEAS is a tribute to my second home, Bahrain and its amazing cultural and artistic heritage.

In celebration of Bahrain National Day, I designed a pendant with a shape of an Arabic traditional door and symbols that remind me of Bahrain: the sea, the sun and the moon.

I added a natural pearl, the most precious and beautiful product of this land.

The pendant is handcrafted in 18k rose gold.

Why the name ‘Between 2 Seas’?
The word Bahrain means ‘Two Seas’, in fact the island contains two kinds of water, sweet water springs and salty water in the sea.

It’s a location between East and West, a fertile land with great acceptance and love for different cultures.

Moreover, doors carry a huge significance in Arab culture as they are made to symbolise new beginnings and an expression of the region’s artistic traditions.

Leap of faith…

December 8, 2021

Leap of faith… Most of us are scared of diving into the unknown, of uncertainty, of unfamiliarity.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Taking a leap of faith does not mean that you make your decisions only based on your feelings. It means that you surrender to your heart and soul. It means that you truly connect with your intuition.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
However, your intuition does not come from nowhere. It is the synthesis of a collection of information and perceptions that you have experienced all through your life. Therefore, when you trust your intuition, you actually trust the knowledge that you have built about yourself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I drew this “leap of faith” cartoon a couple of days before listening to the brilliant podcast of Marie Robert, a French professor, author and columnist, discussing the exact same theme (@philosophyissexy about “audacity”). In amazingly subtle and clear ways, she puts into words what I was hoping to express with my drawing. She refers to Kant, who encourages us to think for ourselves: Dare to know! (Sapere aude). A leap of faith is to have the courage to discover our own truth, to go beyond the surface, to question ourselves, and to explore the unknown. Thank you Marie for inspiring me with your philosophical chronicles.

Letting go…

November 25, 2021

Letting go is a conscious choice to decide that we will no longer dwell on things that are out of our control, and focus on what we can control, instead. This leap of faith should be an easy one but of course it is not.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The way to prepare this jump is to live in the present. The present is all we have. We can’t go back and fix the past, and what happens in the future isn’t here yet.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To free ourselves from fear, we need to live in the present. Anxiety is linked to the future, to the uncertainty of it. To free ourselves from suffering, we need to live in the present too as suffering is linked to the memories of the past. When you live in the present, there is less anxiety and suffering.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we practice yoga, we train our minds to be in the Now. We learn to expand our attention without distraction, quietening the mind. The body (asanas) and the breath (pranayama) are the vehicles allowing the expansion of our conscious awareness and grounding us in the present.
